A gorgeous crochet blanket evokes the holiday spirit!
When it comes to Yuletide we rush to find crochet projects to add that festive touch to our homes and our surroundings and to give away as gifts! Here’s a stunning blanket — or afghan or throw — that more than fits the bill. It’s not only a showcase item but it’s also perfect for crocheters of all skill levels.
This is a fabulous pattern and it’s free! It’s by famed crochet and knitting designer Jess of Make & Do Crew. If you’re familiar with her work, you know that her patterns and tutorials are always top notch.
This is the “Hygge Holiday Throw” pattern. As she notes, the word has become very trendy of late in the home arts and design realm. Hygge” is a word in both the Danish and Norwegian languages that, quoting the Oxford English Dictionary roughly translates into English as a “quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality.” The perfect word for this lovely woven-like afghan!
You’ll find the complete written pattern along with the recommended yarns and everything you need to complete this project from start to finish in plenty of time for Christmas! This project uses the Suzette stitch and if you’re not familiar, no worries, as Jess has an excellent video tutorial that will get you up to speed in no time!
