Here’s a wonderful crochet hat for everyone in your household or gift list!

If you’ve ever encountered a crochet slouch hat that was sized for a baby and you wanted to crochet it for yourself or vice versa, you know it can sometimes be a hassle to recalculate the pattern to get the right size. Alas, it may even mean some frogging along the way.

No worries here as this pattern is adaptable for everyone — babies, toddlers, children and adults. You could crochet a whole set of these — perfect for gift giving or for building up your inventory if you sell your crochet creations at crafts fairs or online.

This is a fabulous pattern and it’s free! It’s the “Tetron Springs Hat” by designer Bethany Deardon of Whistle & Ivy.

The hat is so named for the beautiful variegated yarn she recommends that mimics the colors of the Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park. But of course, color and yarn options are up to you, as there are many variegated and self-striping yarns on the market these days. Just pick your favorite and you’re good to go!

As for the pom poms, you can get some fabulous faux fur pom poms at Amazon. com such as this 12-piece pom pom assortment (paid link) in beautiful neutral colors! It’s inexpensive and top-rated.
