This is a stunning, cozy, and rustic crochet throw that is a perfect project for November, as leaves are still on the trees, and the weather is crisp, but not yet frozen — or for any time of the year! — and the pattern is free! I’m very happy to share the free pattern with you from crochet designer Jessica of Mama in a Stitch. Whether you’re a seasoned crocheter or just looking for satisfying project that can enable you to learn some new skills, this one is perfect for you.

This throw features beautiful flower motifs, and each square is bordered and joined together, and it’s charming and somewhat vintage. It will look great draped over your sofa or as a special handmade gift for someone.

What I like most about this project is that it works up quickly thanks to the chunky #5 yarn. If you’re looking for a project that gives you fast results, you’ll be pleased to know this one flies off the hook, so to speak! Not only does the thicker yarn make it go faster, but it also makes the the texture very warm and sturdy.

To create this beautiful throw, you’ll need chunky #5 yarn in a variety of fall-inspired colors such as browns, deep burgundies, golden yellows, and soft creams. Don’t be intimidated by the flower motifs! The pattern is quite repetitive, so once you get into the rhythm, you’ll find yourself working through it without even looking at the instructions. The squares are joined as you go, which makes assembly super easy – no sewing lots and lots of pieces together at the end. The chunky yarn not only makes the motifs larger, but also makes the joining seamless and smooth!

Whether you stick with these classic autumn shades or experiment with your own color choices, I know this throw will be a rewarding project, and it’s the perfect way to welcome the season!
